WHEW! To think I used to prefer HTML over a designer...

We have two new stories up this quarter for your enjoyment. And since one appears to be the second part of a serial, we're leaving up the link to part one as well.

Just a reminder...if you are submitting serials, we prefer to get the first two installments in the first submission, as well as an outline of what the rest of the story is going to be about...in a nutshell.

Another reminder regarding submissions: Attachments will not be opened. Please embed your story in the body of an email. Single space within the paragraphs, double-space between (see how everything here is set up?).

For the next quarter, we are looking for school girl (or boy) horror stories. Think of The Craft, St. Trinian's, The Woods and go to town..or ...school. Submissions for the third quarter will be accepted through September 20 for publication the first week in October.

Don't forget! We have a new submission address: submissions[at]bending-spoons.com Follow us on Twitter http://twitter.com/spoonbenderpres and find us on Facebook.

July 9, 2010 - Touch the Dark by Karen Chance

Cassie Palmer is a clairvoyant who was raised by a vampire mob boss...It sounded like a good idea when I first bought the book. And probably could have been if not for some glaring annoyances that I just couldn't get past...Read more

April 10, 2010 - Doctor Who - Season 5

Well, fellow Whovian Spoonbenders, I just finished watching the Beast Below, episode two of season five of the British sci-fi action dramedy Doctor Who. Season five brings with it mixed feelings of sadness and eager anticipation with the introduction of the Eleventh Doctor. Read more

March 3, 2010 - Alice in Wonderland

Repeat after me. Thou shalt never doubt the Burton/Depp duet. They have yet to disappoint me. And Alice follows that pattern perfectly. But this time it wasn't Depp who wowed as the Mad Hatter Read more

January 18, 2010 - The Lovely Bones

In true Peter Jackson fashion, the imagery was incredible. The "in-between," where Susie is "stuck" is actually something out of my own dreams (or nightmares, in some cases). Read more

October 25, 2009 - Where the Wild Things Are

First, please don't misunderstand... this is not a children's movie. It is based on a children's book and it is by no means inappropriate for children. Read more

September 12, 2009 - Wristcutters: A Love Story

Wow! Totally not what I thought that was about. So here's the premise. Suicides don't go to Hell. They go to this kind of parallel world where they have jobs and crappy apartments and singles bars but no one ever smiles. I had no idea that that was what this movie was about when I Netflixed it (Netflix is also a verb, boys and girls) but I liked it. Read more
