Legal Information

bending spoons requires First North American serial rights.  To you, this means that all work submitted to our publication is original and has not been published elsewhere.  We want fresh, imaginative work - recycled words aren't fair to anyone.  By submitting to our magazine, you agree that the work is your own and you own the copyright.  Beyond First North American serial rights and archival rights, bending spoons contributors retain all rights to their own work.

All work accepted for publication will be presented online in one quarterly issue then archived indefinitely.  If at any time, you wish to have a piece removed from our archives, send a note to our submissions address with the subject "Archive removal request."

All work accepted for publication will also be included in a year end anthology of the contributions from the previous year.  Inclusion in the anthology is based solely on inclusion in the magazine, purchase of the anthology is not required.  However, for the same reasons we do not provide print copies of the magazine, we cannot provide contributors with complimentary copies.  It is simply not in our not-for-profit, ad-free, small press budget.  If for any reason you do not want your work included in the anthology, please include a note with your original submission, or later to the submission address.

If you have any questions regarding copyright issues, including how to obtain one, what can be copyrighted, etc., we have compiled a short list of websites you can visit which will answer all of these questions:
