Midnight Crawler
Karina Kantas
He hunts once nighttime falls.
Hunger pains him.
Warm blood his want, it matters not age, nor creed.
He silently observes his prey.
Waiting for the right moment for release.
Yet he too is being observed.
I know your wants and desires creature of the night.
I anticipate having similar needs.
My thoughts are of nothing else.
Oh, how I long to feast with you on fresh, warm wine.
I sense your loneliness.
Pine no more.
Needing your death, I desire your thirst.
Resist, I will not.
I will follow and be your companion forever more.
Not one will miss me.
I have no reason to live.
I’ve watched my last sunrise, memorizing the wondrous colours on the horizon.
Listened closely to the world awakening.
For there will be no other morn.
Yearning to feel your breath upon my neck.
I’m impatient for your ultimate kiss.
I’ve watched you feed your craving.
And now my moment approaches.
I’m ready to die. |
